Recognized with two PUDI'26 awards and designed by Marco Sousa Santos for MUDE Museum, the new Design Shop is a hybrid project between shop and gallery. Developed by invitation of Director Bárbara Coutinho, and integrated within the building's renovation byarchitect Luís Saraiva, this Interior Design project transforms the museum shop into a curated space where small temporary exhibition and retail merge into a new Museum shopping concept.
Avoiding a conventional commercial layout, the space encourages visitors to continue their museum journey through flexible displays, sculptural elements in an open gallery-like setting that brings trade into curatorship experiments
Mude Design Shop embraces order to caos as part of a sensorial shopping set.
Marco Sousa Santos approach triggers an evolving language on a mutant display where sets and materiality welcomes daily reinterpretations of the same essential form.
